SMBDA official: Karabakh's fertile land resources create new opportunities for agricultural sector

The great economic potential and investment attractiveness of Azerbaijan’s liberated lands and the availability of fertile lands have created new opportunities for the agricultural sector and the food industry, Small and Medium-sized Business Development Agency (SMBDA) Chairman Orkhan Mammadov said.

He made the remarks during his speech at the 28th Azerbaijan International Food Industry “InterFood Azerbaijan 2023” Exhibition and the 16th Azerbaijan International Agricultural "Caspian Agro" Exhibition on May 17, Report informs.

According to him, projects implemented within the framework of public-private cooperation will make a positive contribution to the development of the agricultural and food industry in the coming years.

“I am sure that the Caspian Agro and InterFood exhibitions, which will demonstrate our achievements in the agricultural and food sectors, will make a positive contribution to the establishment and development of business relations,” the official noted.

Mammadov stressed that the exhibitions make it possible to visually see the achievements of the country in agriculture, as well as the achievements of entrepreneurs working in the agricultural and food sectors.

The chairman emphasized that about 15 small and medium-sized businesses presented their products and services at the exhibitions.

"As a rule, agriculture and the food industry are one of the sectors in which small and medium-sized businesses are most represented. SMBDA always supports the subjects of small and medium businesses through various services and mechanisms, allowing them to offer their products and services to a wide audience," he added.
