Suez Canal increases transit fees for ships passing through

Egyptian authorities this week raised the transit fees for ships passing through the Suez Canal as part of a plan announced back in September 2023.

The cost of passage for oil and gas tankers increased by 15 per cent, while for ships with ordinary cargo - by 5 per cent, according to NEWSru.co.il.

Earlier this week, the Suez Canal Authority reported a 40 per cent drop in revenues compared to the beginning of last year.
