Syria, Azerbaijan to share experience in modernising social programs and services
Syria and Azerbaijan have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of social security, labour, and digital transformation, with a particular focus on support for people with disabilities.
According to Caliber.Az, citing the Syrian news agency SANA, Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labour Hind Kabawat met with Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Hidayat Abdullayev on the sidelines of the World Summit on Social Development held in Doha.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed opportunities to broaden bilateral cooperation and exchange best practices in implementing social programs. The talks also focused on improving the delivery of social services through the use of modern digital technologies.
A statement from Syria’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour said both sides emphasised the importance of mutual experience-sharing to enhance the effectiveness of national social policies.
Minister Kabawat headed the Syrian delegation at the World Summit on Social Development, which took place in Doha from November 4 to 6.
The event gathered more than 8,000 participants, including heads of state, ministers, UN officials, civil society representatives, academics, business leaders, and youth organisations.
