Tashkent–Yerevan direct flights set to return after decades
Regular passenger flights between Tashkent and Yerevan are expected to resume in May 2026, marking the first direct air link between the two capitals in decades.
The announcement was made by Uzbekistan Airports, which said the route is currently planned to operate once a week using Boeing 737 aircraft.
The new service is expected to enhance tourism and business connectivity between Armenia and Uzbekistan, while significantly improving travel convenience for passengers. Until now, travelers on this route have typically relied on connecting flights via Moscow, Istanbul, or Tbilisi.
The carrier designated for the route is Shirak Avia, an Armenian airline based at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan. Established in 2019, the airline operates international services to several destinations and maintains a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft.
If launched as planned, the direct connection would restore a long-missing air corridor between the two countries and broaden regional travel options across the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
