Three Syrian soldiers injured during demining operations in Homs, Hama countryside
Three soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army sustained injuries while conducting demining operations in the countryside of Homs, near the Syrian-Lebanese border, and in the town of Kafr Nabouda in Hama province, a military source announced.
“Three soldiers from the engineering units of the Syrian Arab Army were injured and a mine-clearing vehicle was damaged during the mission to remove landmines and unexploded ordnance left behind by terrorist organizations in the liberated areas,” the source told SANA.
The source emphasized that engineering units continue their extensive efforts to clear liberated territories of explosive remnants to ensure the safe return of displaced residents and the restoration of normal civilian life.
Despite ongoing clearance efforts, mine explosions remain a recurring hazard, often resulting in casualties among military personnel and civilians alike.
The Syrian Army’s engineering units, in cooperation with local authorities and international partners, have been working systematically to remove explosive devices planted during years of conflict, particularly in areas previously controlled by armed groups.
