Trump declines to deport Prince Harry
Prince Harry can rest easy in Montecito, as US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he has no intention of deporting the self-exiled British royal.
Harry’s immigration status is currently being challenged in Washington DC, with the Heritage Foundation claiming that he might have hidden past illegal drug use, which could have made him ineligible for a US visa, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
However, the president told The New York Post on February 7 that he has no plans to expel Harry from the country.
"I don’t want to do that," he said. "I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible." Trump also took the opportunity to praise Harry’s estranged older brother, William, whom he met privately in Paris in December during the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral.
"I think William is a great young man," he said.
The Duke of Sussex and his liberal American wife, Meghan Markle, have criticised Trump over the years, with the Duchess once calling the president “divisive” and “misogynistic.” In response, Trump has referred to Harry as “whipped” by Markle.
"I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose," he added.
