Trump issues warning on Cuba as Havana rejects any US-driven regime change
US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning regarding Cuba, saying “You just watch,” and suggesting that the Caribbean nation’s situation could change dramatically.
He told MS Now in an interview that Cuba would eventually benefit its people after years of hardship, describing the country as having “seen better days” and implying that future developments would bring relief to its citizens, Caliber.Az reports.
“You just watch. It’s going to be — Cuba’s seen better days,” he said. “Cuba’s gonna end up being very happy for the people in this country that had to suffer so much, the way they were treated.”
Cuba, however, has firmly rejected any suggestion of external interference.
Ernesto Sobero Guzmán, the country’s permanent representative to the United Nations, emphasised that removing President Miguel Díaz-Canel or altering Cuba’s political system to appease the United States is completely off the table. He stressed that any idea of a friendly takeover, regime change, or presidential removal is not open to discussion, underscoring Havana’s stance against US-driven political pressure.
