Trump: Zelenskyy to visit US after peace deal reached
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be able to visit the White House once a peace agreement is finalised.
"He [Zelenskyy] would like to come, but I think we should get a deal done first," Trump said responding to journalists' quoestion aboard Air Force One, per Caliber.Az.
“We're having good talks. We started with Russia. We're having some talks with Russia. Ukraine is doing well. I think they're pretty happy about it. I'd like to see it end. We're making progress,” Trump said.
When asked by reporters about the disagreements arising between the parties during discussions of the peace plan, Trump replied: “Well, it's just the standard things with people starting to realize it's a good deal for both parties. If they got to stop the war, they're losing a lot of people, a lot of soldiers, mostly soldiers.”
Trump's comments align with his administration's push for a swift resolution under the revised 28-point peace framework, approved on November 18, 2025. The plan proposes a ceasefire along current frontlines, Ukraine's non-NATO path, military caps, and phased sanctions relief for Russia in exchange for US reconstruction aid and multilateral security guarantees. While Zelenskyy agreed to the "core terms" in Geneva, he has insisted on European participation in any Trump meeting to address "sensitive issues" like territorial integrity and guarantees.
