Turkic World Week celebrates Turkology milestone in Baku PHOTO
Turkic World Week has begun in Baku, Azerbaijan, with a series of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkology Congress.
The week-long programme, which will continue until July 3, features academic, cultural and scientific events highlighting Turkic history, language and heritage, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The event is being held in accordance with an order signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on October 22, 2025, to commemorate the centenary of the First Turkology Congress.
Turkic World Week is jointly organised by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), and the Ministry of Science and Education, in cooperation with several Turkic institutions, including the Organization of Turkic States, TURKSOY, Baku State University, the Turkic Academy, and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
