Turkish “Bayraktar TB2” combat UAV sets new record
The Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 UAV has set a new record by breaking the bar of 500,000 flight hours.
The combat drone produced by Baykar Defence company based in Türkiye is considered one of the best in the world in its class, according to Anadolu Agency.
In the tactical drone class, the Bayraktar TB2 has recorded 27 hours and 3 minutes of non-stop flight. The drone can fly up to 27,030 feet in the sky.
Bayraktar TB2 is successfully used by Turkish security forces in anti-terrorist operations both inside and outside the country.
Drones were also actively used in the operations of the Turkish Armed Forces "Euphrates Shield" and "Olive Branch" in northern Syria, and also successfully performed during the war for the liberation of the Azerbaijani lands from Armenian occupation in 2020.
Interest in the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 strike drone is growing around the world. Export contracts have been signed with 23 countries, including Ukraine, Qatar, Azerbaijan, and Poland.
According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly, in 2021 alone, Baykar supplied $664 million worth of unmanned aerial vehicles to overseas markets.
Currently, up to 90 per cent of Baykar's revenues are accumulated through export earnings.
Bayraktar TB2 drones are also used in forest monitoring to fight fires, as well as in search and rescue operations.
