Turkish fighter jets target areas near Teshreen Dam, rural Al-Raqqah in Syria VIDEO
In the early hours of January 16, Turkish fighter jets launched five airstrikes on areas surrounding the Teshreen Dam in the Manbij countryside, located in eastern Aleppo.
The airstrikes targeted key positions, with local activists reporting loud explosions and visible smoke rising from the affected areas. However, there have been no reports of casualties from the strikes, Caliber.Az reports citing Syrian media.
The airstrikes coincided with public protests near the Teshreen Dam, where demonstrators voiced their opposition to Turkish military operations in the region. These protests are part of a growing local sentiment rejecting the ongoing Turkish attacks.
Turkish fighter jets were seen flying frequently over several locations, including the Manbij countryside, Teshreen Dam, the Qarrah Quzaq bridge, and Ain Al-Arab (Kobani). Activists reported that the jets flew at high altitudes, breaking the sound barrier to instill fear among the local population.
Additionally, Turkish fighter jets conducted two airstrikes on a position in Sakiro village in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah, and another on a position in the Al-Jarniyah area in the western countryside of the same province. Turkish artillery also targeted the Al-Sherkah village in the Al-Tarwaziyah region of Ain Issa countryside. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in these incidents as well.
As of now, the situation remains tense with ongoing military actions and public unrest in the region.
