"The Turkish Armed Forces neutralised 10 PKK terrorists identified in Iraq's Hakurk, Gara regions, and 6 PKK/YPG terrorists identified in the areas of the Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch counter-terrorism operations in northern Syria," the statement reads.
Since 2016, Ankara has carried out three successful anti-terror operations along its border in northern Syria to thwart the establishment of a terror corridor and facilitate the peaceful resettlement of residents: Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019).
The PKK, designated a terrorist organisation by Türkiye, the US, and the EU, has waged a terror campaign against Türkiye for over 40 years, causing the deaths of tens of thousands, including women, children, and infants.
