Turkish MP hails trillion-dollar potential of Zangezur corridor
Murat Emir, Deputy Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) faction in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye has hailed a trillion-dollar potential of the Zangezur corridor, saying its opening is poised to significantly contribute to the region's development.
Addressing the international parliamentary conference in Baku, Emir emphasized that the Zangezur Corridor, an integral part of the Middle Corridor, holds vast economic potential, with prospects valued at up to one trillion dollars, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
"This project will not only stimulate economic cooperation but also strengthen political and cultural ties across the region," Emir stated.
The international parliamentary conference “Parliamentarism: Traditions and Prospects” got underway at the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (Parliament) in Baku.
The event brought together around 100 participants from parliaments of 13 countries, as well as representatives from international organizations.
The conference aims to explore the role of parliaments in global processes, the development of parliamentary traditions, the potential of parliamentary diplomacy, and the contribution of debates in addressing modern challenges.
A roundtable discussion on the “Azerbaijani and Turkish Examples of Parliaments in Public Diplomacy” will be held at the ADA University on the margins of the conference.
Additionally, participants will travel to Azerbaijan’s liberated territories to observe the ongoing reconstruction efforts.
The conference is scheduled to conclude on December 8.
