In a statement posted on social media, Uraloğlu said:
“We are monitoring developments in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf on a minute-by-minute basis and remain in constant contact with the vessels and our citizens in the region.
Yesterday, after two more of our ships left the area on the morning of June 21, the total number of Turkish-owned vessels that have safely passed through the Strait of Hormuz and exited the Gulf since the beginning of the war reached 11.
At present, 177 of our citizens are serving aboard a total of seven vessels operating in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, one of which is sailing under the Turkish flag.
Under all circumstances, we continue to take every necessary measure to ensure the safety of our citizens and our vessels.”
