Turkish presidential candidate Sinan Ogan urges his supporters to vote for Erdogan
Sinan Oğan, the ATA alliance presidential candidate of Türkiye who won more than five per cent of the popular vote in the first round of the presidential election (May 14), announced on May 22 his support for Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the second round of voting (May 28).
"I am announcing that we will support Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the candidate of the Nation of the People political bloc, in the second round of voting," Ogan said at a briefing Monday in Ankara, Anadolu Agency reported.
The politician urged his supporters to cast their votes for the incumbent head of state.
Ogan thanked each of the 111,500 voters who supported his candidacy for the May 14 elections with their signatures.
According to the official results of the presidential elections on May 14, Recep Tayyip Erdogan received 49.52 per cent of the votes, Kemal Kilicdaroglu received 44.88 per cent, Sinan Ogan received 5.17 per cent, and Muharrem Ince received 0.43 per cent.
Since no candidate received 50 per cent of the vote, Türkiye will have a second round of presidential elections on May 28.
