Armenia informs EU of steps it takes to institutionalise peace, highlights Trump Route
Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of Armenia's Security Council, has presented the country’s vision for regional peace and economic cooperation to European Commission officials, highlighting the “Trump Route” as a central framework.
According to the Armenian Security Council press service, during his meeting with Simon Mordue, diplomatic adviser to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Grigoryan outlined Armenia’s approach to institutionalising peace and stressed the significance of the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” program, part of the broader “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
He emphasised its potential to reopen regional communications and unlock wide-ranging economic opportunities.
The discussions also explored potential avenues for bilateral cooperation in implementing these initiatives.
The "Trump Route" emerged from the historic August 8, 2025, White House summit, where U.S. President Donald Trump mediated a preliminary peace declaration between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Dubbed TRIPP by the White House, the 27-mile (43 km) corridor—spanning Armenia's Syunik Province—grants Azerbaijan unimpeded access to Nakhchivan, its western exclave bordering Türkiye and Iran, under a long-term U.S. private-sector lease.
