Fars: Iranian hacker group targets former Israeli intelligence chief PHOTO
The Iranian hacker group Handala has breached the email account of Tamir Hayman, now leading the Institute for National Security Studies in Israel, Fars news agency reports, citing the cyber group.
Handala gained access to over 50,000 emails from Hayman’s correspondence and published them online, according to the report.
In a statement, Handala addressed Hayman: “Consider all your top-secret correspondence exposed; every confidential conversation, every strategic plan, every futile attempt to appear smart is now available for download by the world.”
Handala is a pro‑Iranian hacktivist group believed to operate with ties to Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence, emerging as a prominent actor in cyber retaliation amid the broader US–Israel‑Iran conflict that escalated in early 2026.
