Türkiye’s drone giant Baykar reveals new loitering munition K2 video
Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar on Saturday, March 14, unveiled a new loitering unmanned aerial vehicle called the K2 loitering drone, according to a report by Anadolu Agency.
The new system was presented in a promotional video accompanied by the composition Waltz No. 2 by composer Dmitri Shostakovich. The video demonstrates the drone’s capabilities, including flight systems and artificial intelligence-based targeting and guidance.
According to the company, the K2 is capable of autonomous swarm flights and uses computer vision technologies for navigation, target detection and strike missions.

The drone has an operational range exceeding 2,000 kilometres. It is equipped with a 200-kilogram warhead, while its maximum takeoff weight reaches 800 kilograms.
The drone can take off from short or unprepared runways and is designed for repeated use across different types of missions.
Baykar is one of the leading manufacturers of unmanned systems in Türkiye and exports UAVs to a number of countries. Existing platforms produced by the company include the tactical Bayraktar TB2, the high-altitude Bayraktar Akıncı, the ship-compatible Bayraktar TB3, and the jet-powered Bayraktar Kızılelma.
In the released promotional footage, the K2 is shown during takeoff, flying in formation and performing coordinated maneuvers.
