Security chief: Armenian delegation to visit Azerbaijan in reciprocal visit
Armenian National Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan announced that representatives of Armenian civil society are set to visit Azerbaijan in a reciprocal visit.
Speaking at an international conference in Brussels, Grigoryan recalled that on October 21–22, 2025, a delegation of Azerbaijani civil society members visited Armenia for a bilateral roundtable for the first time, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
He said, “It is expected that representatives of Armenian civil society will also visit Azerbaijan in the near future. Prior to the participation of civil society members, the head of Armenia’s National Security Service attended Baku for an international security forum. Such visits and exchanges will help strengthen mutual trust and understanding between the two societies, as well as contribute to peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.”
Representatives of Armenian and Azerbaijani civil society held a bilateral round table in Yerevan, marking the first initiative of its kind since the Joint Declaration signed in Washington, D.C., on August 8, 2025.
The meeting brought together experts and civil society figures from both countries to discuss peace, humanitarian issues, and prospects for economic and logistical cooperation.
The Armenian delegation included Areg Kochinyan, Boris Navasardyan, Naira Sultanyan, Narek Minasyan, and Samvel Meliksetyan, while Azerbaijan was represented by Farhad Mammadov, Rusif Huseynov, Ramil Isgandarli, Kamala Mammadova, and Dilara Afandiyeva.
Participants also met with Armen Grigoryan, highlighting the role of institutional support alongside civil society efforts. The round table concluded with a commitment to ongoing dialogue, trust-building measures, and collaborative initiatives to advance lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
