Turkish T3 Foundation to open science centre in Azerbaijan's Guba
The Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) will soon open a science centre in Azerbaijan's Guba City.
The announcement was made by the Chairwoman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır, during the TEKNOFEST festival in Northern Cyprus, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
"Our foundation has a long history of cooperation with Azerbaijan. In this regard, we established a strong connection following the organisation of TEKNOFEST. Our science center operating in Baku has been visited by possibly more than one hundred thousand young Azerbaijanis over the past two years. This is a very encouraging figure for us," she emphasised.
According to the foundation's head, around 80 students have graduated from the T3 experimental programs implemented in Azerbaijan.
"In other words, they have successfully completed the two-year educational programs, and we have selected new students who have already started their training. Thus, our close ties with Azerbaijan continue. In the near future—possibly within the next one or two weeks—we will open a new science center in Quba. This will be our second center in the country. We attach great importance to our work and activities in Azerbaijan," Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır stated.
She also noted that the T3 Foundation closely collaborates with various Azerbaijani institutions within the framework of TEKNOFEST.
For the record, the "Bilim Baku" center, established based on a memorandum signed between ASAN xidmət and the T3 Foundation, was inaugurated on May 28, 2022, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Nobel Laureate Aziz Sancar.
The center aims to develop the knowledge and skills of students aged 6–14 in the fields of technology, innovation, science, and entrepreneurship, and to visually demonstrate school concepts through practical training sessions. At the same time, its main priorities include showcasing how science and technology apply to daily life and providing opportunities to observe how scientific phenomena work in practice.
