Türkiye, Azerbaijan to sign agricultural cooperation agreement
Türkiye and Azerbaijan will sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of agriculture.
The remarks came from the Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirishchi on June 29, according to Report.
He said the preparations are underway for signing agreements on cooperation in the agricultural sector with 10 countries. Along with Azerbaijan, these countries include Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Sudan, Algeria, and others.
According to Kirishchi, measures are being taken against a possible food crisis.
Products that are difficult to produce in Turkey due to climatic conditions will be grown on land leased abroad. The Ministry of Agriculture has started land lease negotiations in a number of countries in Latin America and Africa.
“There are countries that came up with a similar offer to Türkiye, including Azerbaijan, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Sudan. Negotiations are underway,” the minister said, adding that relevant work has begun on cooperation with these countries.
