Türkiye constructing over 800 houses in two earthquake-hit areas
Turkish Minister of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change Murat Kurum has laid the foundation stone for one of 855 residential buildings planned to be built in earthquake-hit Nurdagi and Islahiye districts in Gaziantep province.
The new residential buildings in the disaster area will be built by the Turkish Mass Housing Development Administration (TOKI), according to Anadolu.
“All our efforts are aimed at providing citizens with houses as soon as possible. We will immediately start construction in those areas on which contracts have been signed and where seismic work has been completed,” the minister said.
The construction process started in the Bademli area of Nurdagi, one of the most earthquake-affected districts in Türkiye. The earthworks have been already launched.
