Türkiye holds critical security meeting in response to Israeli attacks on Iran PHOTO
In response to Israel’s recent air strikes on multiple cities across Iran, Turkey convened a high-level security meeting in its capital, Ankara, to discuss the developments and potential regional consequences.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and brought together key Turkish officials, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, Chief of the General Staff General Metin Gürak, and National Intelligence Organisation (MIT) Director İbrahim Kalın.
According to TRT Haber, the officials discussed the situation following Israel’s air attacks on Iran, which targeted cities including Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and the Natanz nuclear facility, as well as several other provinces. The discussions focused on assessing the current situation and preparing for the possible repercussions that may arise from this escalation.
The Israeli strikes on June 13 reportedly resulted in significant casualties, including high-ranking Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists, alongside civilian losses. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue military operations until what he described as the “threat is eliminated.”
Türkiye’s leadership emphasised the importance of regional stability and expressed readiness to monitor and respond to any developments affecting security in the broader Middle East.
