Türkiye launches construction of over 21,000 houses in quake-hit zone

The construction of 21,244 houses has already started in the quake-hit zone of Türkiye as of March 3, 2023.

The statement came from Türkiye's Minister of Environment Protection and Urban Planning Murat Kurum at a briefing in Adiyaman Province on March 2, according to Anadolu Agency.

According to him, the foundations for a total of 244,000 residential houses will be laid in the next two months in the disaster-affected provinces, and thus, the large-scale construction in the country’s history will be kickstarted.

"A total of 319,000 housing units are planned to be built in a year," the minister said.
