Türkiye offers to prolong "grain deal"
The agreement on the "grain corridor", created with the mediation of Türkiye to prevent the world's food crisis, expires on November 19.
Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar made the statement after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by the Turkish president, according to the Turkish news service NTV.
He stressed that Türkiye plays a big role in creating and operating this corridor.
Akar also spoke about the operation of the Joint Coordination Centre in Istanbul: “Our friends in the Joint Coordination Centre in Istanbul are working very hard.
“We work 24 hours a day throughout the week to transport Ukrainian grain. Our goal is to prevent a food crisis, we are working to ensure that there are no hungry people in the world, so that political stability is not violated. Türkiye supports the extension of the grain corridor agreement. We are also considering the question of what kind of work can be carried out to transport grain in Russian ports,” the minister added.
