Türkiye’s ASELSAN unveils upgraded KORAL electronic warfare system VIDEO

12 September 2025 19:42

Turkish defence company ASELSAN has announced an upgrade to its KORAL ground-based electronic support (ES) and electronic attack (EA) system, enhancing its performance and reliability for the Turkish Armed Forces.

According to ASELSAN, the modernised KORAL now features higher output power, advanced phased-array antenna technologies with active electronic beam scanning, and the ability to simultaneously engage multiple targets. The system is designed to provide a strategic advantage by jamming and deceiving adversary radars across a wide frequency range, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish military media

Company representatives stated that the improvements make the system more adaptive to evolving threats and suitable for future combat scenarios.

“The ASELSAN KORAL system provides a significant strategic advantage on the modern battlefield, combining superior power with flawless accuracy,” the company said in a statement.

The KORAL system plays a key role in Türkiye's multi-layered “ÇELİKKUBBE” (Steel Dome) air defence architecture, particularly in Suppression of Enemy Air Defences (SEAD) operations. By neutralising enemy radars and disrupting adversary detection capabilities, the system is intended to protect Turkish forces while securing information superiority on the battlefield.

ASELSAN emphasised that with its enhanced jamming and electronic warfare functions, the upgraded KORAL positions Türkiye to expand its air defence and electronic warfare capabilities in line with modern operational requirements.
