Türkiye’s special envoy expresses condolences due to tragedy in Armenia
Türkiye’s Special Representative in the Armenia-Türkiye settlement process Serdar Kilic has expressed condolences in connection with the explosion in a shopping centre in Armenia’s Yerevan city.
“I am deeply shocked by the news about a powerful explosion in a shopping centre in Yerevan. I would like to express my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to all those who suffered as a result of this tragedy,” Caliber.Az reports referring to Kilic’s message on Twitter.
A strong explosion occurred in the Surmalu shopping centre in Yerevan and then burst into flame on August 14 afternoon.
As a result of the incident, six citizens were killed and 16 more are considered missing. A total of 61 people were hospitalised.
The official cause of the incident has not been announced yet. The eyewitnesses said that the explosion occurred in a fireworks shop.
