Albatros was equipped with a warhead from Roketsan.
The tests were conducted near the coast of Mersin and observed by Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, Commander of the Turkish Navy Haluk Görgün, President of the Presidium of Defense Industry Ahmet Akyol, CEO of ASELSAN, and other officials from the Naval Command Headquarters.
The Bayraktar TB2 was engaged in the support of the naval kamikaze drone, guidance and recording of the ship’s defeat.
In July, Militarnyi reported that ULAQ KAMA surface kamikaze from ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defense was presented in Türkiye.
ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defense said that they would be able to supply the customer with more than 100 units of ULAQ KAMA less than a year after the conclusion of the corresponding contract.
More attention is being paid to kamikaze drones of this type after the successful use of such drones by Ukraine.
In August, it was reported that a brigade of naval drones was created in Ukraine.
Previously, the existence of such a unit as part of the Ukrainian military fleet was not publicly reported.
Thus, for the first time in history, a separate brigade was formed as part of the Ukrainian Navy for the use of marine drones (unmanned surface vehicle).
