UK’s journalist: Azerbaijani FM shows more professionalism at UN than his Armenian counterpart
UK journalist Onnik Krikorian has commented on the speeches of the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers at the recent meeting of the UN Security Council.
“Sadly, Ararat Mirzoyan speaking at the UN Security Council meeting reverts to fear tactics on a scale even Dashnaks don't go to. Reminder, Pashinyan earlier today said there was no direct threat to the Karabakh Armenians. Anyway, seems the international community doesn't agree,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Krikorian’s message on X.
“Bayramov, however, shows more maturity and professionalism than Mirzoyan, noting that this hardly helps talks between the Karabakh Armenians and Baku. Strange to say, but the opposition has long argued that the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has collapsed under Pashinyan,” he wrote.
“Honestly, this was going well in the context of a real determination to finally resolve this conflict and also support Karabakh representatives in negotiating with Baku. That is, until Mirzoyan spoke,” Krikorian wrote.
"Remains highly concerning to me that those western representatives of foreign-based conflict resolution projects welcomed Pashinyan's rise to power. In reality, however, his populist ascendancy to power led to the 2020 war, something I warned about in 2018. One last chance now," he concluded.
