Ukraine calls on EU to disconnect all banks in Russia, Belarus from SWIFT

Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk at a meeting with representatives of the heads of parliamentary committees for European affairs of the EU member states called for disconnecting all Russian and Belarusian banks from SWIFT.

“A complete energy embargo, personal and sectoral sanctions, disconnection of all Russian and Belarusian banks from SWIFT, a visa ban - this is what I emphasized,” Gazeta.ru reports referring to the speaker's announcement on social networks.

In addition, he called on European states to strengthen military assistance to Ukraine, in particular, to provide air defence systems, as well as to prohibit Russian ships from entering foreign ports.
