Ukraine claims its army can legally attack Russian facilities in annexed territories

Advisor to the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Mykhailo Podolyak has said that the Ukrainian defenders can legally attack any Russian facilities in the temporarily occupied territories.

“Any counter-offensive and de-occupation of territories fall within the concept of a defensive war,” Caliber.Az quotes Podolyak’s Twitter post as saying on October 5.

Podolyak noted that this is an absolute axiom for the leadership of Ukraine and its allies. 

Будь-які російські об’єкти на окупованій території є законними військовими цілями для атаки Збройними Силами України. Будь-який контрнаступ та деокупація територій підпадає під концепцію оборонної війни. Це абсолютна аксіома як для керівництва України, так і для наших союзників.
