Ukraine’s Security Service detains another Russian saboteur in Odessa PHOTO
In Odesa, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has detained another female saboteur working for Russia’s military intelligence, the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
She was allegedly providing coordinates for strikes on the city and justifying Russia’s aggression on social media, Caliber.Az reports, citing SBU’s Telegram channel.
According to the SBU’s Internal Security Department, the 52-year-old unemployed local woman collected information on Ukrainian special forces units and other potential targets in the southern region. She recorded coordinates by surveying areas and marking locations on Google Maps.
To avoid detection, she pretended to be walking friends’ dogs and regularly changed her clothing and behaviour. Photos, videos, and electronic geolocations were sent to her Russian handler via messenger.
She was caught “red-handed” while conducting reconnaissance near a restricted facility. Authorities seized her smartphone containing a prepared intelligence “report” for Russian services and Telegram posts justifying the full-scale invasion.
Investigators have charged her under three articles of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. She remains in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
