Ukraine says long-range strikes hit Russian refineries, military facilities
Ukraine’s long-range strikes on targets inside Russia during June hit oil refineries, military-industrial facilities and naval assets, the Defence Ministry has stated.
It said the strikes targeted 11 Russian oil refineries, seven fuel logistics facilities, eight military production plants, space communications centres, as well as ships and ferries, Caliber.Az reports.
The ministry noted that the attacks ranged from Crimea and Russia's Krasnodar region to Western Siberia, with the longest successful strike reaching a target more than 2,000 kilometres from Ukraine's border.
Ukraine’s long-range drone strikes deep inside Russia mark more than a military escalation—it reflects a broader strategy aimed at eroding the political, economic and military foundations of President Vladimir Putin’s war effort, according to The Atlantic.
The outlet said Kyiv is no longer focused solely on defending its territory but is increasingly seeking to bring the costs of the conflict directly to Russia’s leadership and population.
