Ukraine strikes Russia with cutting-edge Flamingo missiles
The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) reportedly launched strikes on multiple Russian regions using their newest Flamingo cruise missiles, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced.
“Air defence systems successfully intercepted five long-range Flamingo cruise missiles, six guided aerial bombs, eight US-made HIMARS rockets, and 211 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs),” the ministry stated, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Introduced in the summer of 2025, the Flamingo missile system represents one of Ukraine’s most advanced weapons developments.
The attacks on the morning of February 12 involved several Russian regions. Russian air defences reportedly intercepted over 100 drones during the strikes. Among the impacted areas was the Republic of Komi, where a drone strike on a local oil refinery reportedly ignited a fire.
