Ukraine to look into Iran's drone, missile assistance to Russia
Ukraine's Security Service has initiated criminal proceedings in connection with the supply of Iranian kamikaze drones and missiles to Russia.
"The Ukrainian Security Service investigators have started criminal proceedings, which should establish all those involved in the delivery of Iranian drones Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6 to Russia, as well as short-range ballistic missiles Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar," RBC-Ukraine reports citing the Security Service's Telegram channel.
According to the investigation, there is every reason to assert that Iran and its military-industrial complex are intentionally helping Russia in the war against Ukraine.
During the investigation, the names of all persons involved in helping Russia and their further prosecution, methods and routes of arms transportation will be established.
"Anyone who helps Russia to shell peaceful Ukrainian towns and villages should also be held accountable for war crimes. After all, you can't knowingly sell a sharpened knife to a maniac, and then be surprised that he kills people. Therefore, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies give a legal assessment of such assistance to our enemy," said the acting head of the Ukrainian Security Service, Vasyl Malyuk, said.
He added that despite Russia's attempts to disguise the "Shaheds" as "Geraniums", the SBU will prove their Iranian origin, in particular, and with the help of expertise.
According to Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, all accomplices of the aggressor state face up to 12 years in prison.
