Ukrainian special forces strike LNG terminal in Russia’s Temryuk Port VIDEO
The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) special operations unit “Alpha” reportedly used drones to strike a liquefied natural gas (LNG) transhipment terminal at Temryuk Port in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
The SBU sources say the attack targeted facilities of the company Maktren-Nafta, which burned for three days following the strike. The fire engulfed over 20 storage tanks, each with a capacity of 200 cubic meters, out of the 30 tanks at the site, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
SBU drones also destroyed railway tank cars, an intermediate refuelling tank, and a loading-unloading gantry. The total area affected by the blaze is estimated at around 3,000 square meters.
Maktren-Nafta, established in 2008, specialises in transferring LNG from railcars and tank containers to specialised gas carriers. The terminal has an annual handling capacity of 400,000 tons.
