US airstrikes hit Houthi positions across Yemen, leaving significant damage
US military aircraft launched a series of airstrikes targeting Houthi positions across Yemen in the early hours of March 28.
At least 37 airstrikes were reported, with targets including the capital Sanaa, specifically near the international airport, as well as Saada, Hudaydah (including the port), Al-Jawf, and Amran, Caliber.Az reports, citing Yemeni media.
The strikes also hit key communication infrastructure in the Al Jabal Al Aswad area of Harf Sufyan district, with at least five separate hits recorded. Significant damage was reported following the raids.
To recall, the Houthi movement, also known as Ansar Allah, has claimed responsibility for launching ballistic missiles targeting Israel's Ben Gurion Airport and the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, along with other warships in the Red Sea.
The missile aimed at the Israeli airport was identified as a "Palestine 2" hypersonic ballistic missile, while the warships were targeted by multiple missiles and drones. The attack follows US military strikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, which killed over 50 people and injured nearly 100, sparking the Houthi retaliation.
On March 23, the Israeli military successfully intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, preventing it from reaching Israeli airspace. Air raid sirens were activated in multiple Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, leading to a temporary halt in air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
