In Nagpur, India, participants of the Marbat festival burned an effigy of US President Donald Trump.
This year, the festival was held partly as a protest against Trump’s trade policies toward India, particularly the 50 per cent tariffs on Indian goods, Caliber.Az cites Indian media.
Some social media commentators noted that without signs on the effigy, it could easily be mistaken for someone else.
By tradition, the Marbat festival conveys social messages, reflecting the Indian people’s desire to “free themselves from misfortune and corruption.”
