US delegation visits Lachin, Shusha, applauds reconstruction efforts PHOTO
A delegation of officials from Maine and prominent representatives of the US public have visited the liberated regions of Shusha and Lachin.
The visit, organized by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, aimed to observe the ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in these areas, Caliber.Az reports.
In Shusha, the delegation was briefed on the current situation and the improvements made for new arrivals. They toured key sites, including the Vagif Mausoleum, Ganja Gate, shelled monuments, Jydir Duzu, and Yukhari Govharagha Mosque, expressing strong condemnation of the vandalism inflicted on cultural monuments and mosques during the Armenian occupation.
The Lachin leg of the visit included detailed insights into the conditions provided for returning residents, job creation initiatives, and social security measures. The delegation toured the Agro-Industrial Park, greenhouse, farm, furniture workshop in Lachin city, and the village of Sus.
