US envoy urges to resolve landmine issues in Azerbaijan

US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger has said that the problem of mine contamination in Azerbaijan is essential.

If the territories are not cleared of mines, the internally displaced persons will not be able to return there, he said at a briefing, according to Report.

Litzenberger said many US companies are involved in the process of reconstruction of the Azerbaijani liberated territories.

“The US has a lot of experience in this, we can present the best equipment... We want to see more American companies in Karabakh,” the ambassador said.
