Uzbekistan's Central Election Commission approves results of presidential elections Shavkat Mirziyoyev declared as the winner
The Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan has summed up the final results of the early presidential elections, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been declared the winner.
According to the CEC, in the presidential elections on the basis of free expression of will, more than 15.6 million citizens included in the voter lists, or almost 80 per cent, voted for the candidate they considered worthy, as Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Uzbek media.
In particular, a resolution was adopted on the election of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the post of president by 87.05 per cent of the votes of voters who took part in the elections.
4.43 per cent of voters supported the candidate from the Social Democratic Party "Adolat" Robakhon Makhmudova.
4.02 per cent of voters voted for the candidate from the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Inoyatov.
Abdushukur Khamzaev, the candidate of the Uzbek Ecological Party, received 3.74 per cent of the vote.
Early presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan on 9 July.
