Washington urges more intensive Baku-Yerevan dialogue, peace agreement

The United States has called on Azerbaijan and Armenia to intensify diplomatic cooperation to achieve a comprehensive peace agreement.
US State Department Deputy Press Secretary Vedant Patel made the remarks at the US State Department press briefing on August 30, Caliber.Az reports.
"The United States remains committed to promoting a secure, stable, democratic, prosperous, and peaceful future for the South Caucasus region and we urge Armenia and Azerbaijan to intensify their diplomatic engagement and achieve a comprehensive peace agreement," Patel said.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is scheduled to meet EU Council President Charles Michel and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Brussels on August 31.
