According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Migration Department carried out inspections in both residential apartments and workplaces where the migrants were employed. These checks revealed multiple violations of Georgia’s immigration laws, Caliber.Az reports.
Among those detained and subsequently deported were citizens of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Iran, Jordan, Pakistan, China, Russia, Armenia, Nigeria, Turkmenistan, Ghana, Iraq, Yemen, Egypt, and Lebanon. All were found to be staying in Georgia without lawful authorization.
The Ministry emphasized that the operation forms part of an ongoing effort to enforce the country’s immigration regulations and ensure compliance with legal entry and residency requirements.
