Iran, Türkiye's top diplomats meet in Tehran Agenda is opening of new Iranian consulate in Van
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Tehran to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and addressing key regional issues, Tasnim News reports.
The ministers highlighted progress in areas such as the establishment of joint free economic zones and the activation of a new border crossing.
Araghchi noted that a new Iranian consulate will soon open in the Turkish city of Van, which will not only provide consular services but also play a significant role in enhancing cooperation between border provinces.
The two officials also held detailed discussions on regional matters, including the Palestinian issue and the situation in the Gaza Strip, emphasising the need for joint efforts to halt military actions in the enclave.
Both sides underscored that stability and security in Syria depend on preserving its territorial integrity, which they noted is threatened by Israeli actions.
