Kyrgyzstan dismisses three civil servants over election violations
Three civil servants have been dismissed from their positions in Kyrgyzstan for violations in the ongoing parliamentary election campaigning.
The country's General Prosecutor’s Office has received 25 complaints regarding the snap parliamentary elections, Prosecutor Samat Junusov told a briefing on November 30, local outlet 24.kg reports.
Of these, 11 cases were transferred to law enforcement agencies and six were referred to the Central Election Commission, while two complaints were dismissed, one was merged with another, and five were documented in official reports.
The office is closely monitoring civil servants and municipal officials for involvement in election campaigning, including activity on social media. Based on identified violations, five prosecutorial directives were issued. As a result, one civil servant faced disciplinary action, three were dismissed from their positions, and one directive is still under review.
The elections began at 08:00 local time (06:00 Baku time), with 4,294,243 registered voters participating at 2,492 domestic polling stations and 100 abroad. Voting will continue until 20:00 local time (18:00 Baku time), with preliminary results expected shortly after polls close and the official results to be announced by December 14.
