We taught India a lesson: Pakistani PM warns against mistaking peace for weakness
Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed his country’s commitment to regional peace and prosperity while underscoring its readiness to respond decisively to any acts of aggression.
Speaking ahead of a concert held in Lachin on May 28 to mark Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s peaceful intentions while recalling past military confrontations, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Pakistan is promoting peace and prosperity in the region,” Prime Minister Sharif stated. However, he cautioned that Pakistan’s desire for peaceful coexistence should not be mistaken for weakness.
“No matter how peace-loving Pakistan is, in case of an attack on the country, it is able to respond adequately,” he declared, referencing a past conflict with neighboring India. “We did so against India and taught it a lesson by shooting down enemy planes.”
