“Unity-2025” showcases regional military might at Distinguished Visitors Day in Uzbekistan PHOTO/VIDEO

The Distinguished Visitors Day of the “Unity-2025” joint regional military exercise took place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, bringing together high-ranking defence officials and servicemen from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and host nation Uzbekistan.

The event marked a significant milestone in regional defence cooperation and was attended by the Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of Defence of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, as well as senior military officials from the participating countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry.

The participants were briefed on the objectives and various operational phases of the exercise before witnessing a series of live demonstrations at the training range. These practical segments showcased tactical coordination, combat readiness, and interoperability among the participating armed forces.

Following the demonstrations, high-level guests visited the joint command post to observe its operational processes, gaining insights into the exercise's command and control systems. An exhibition featuring domestically produced weapons and military equipment—developed by the Defence Industry Agencies under Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Defence—was also presented, highlighting the nation’s growing defence manufacturing capabilities.

A closing ceremony was held to mark the successful completion of the “Unity-2025” exercise. In his address, Colonel General Hasanov expressed his deep appreciation to the Uzbek Ministry of Defence for its excellent organization and hospitality. He congratulated the participants on their exemplary performance and wished them continued success in their military careers.

The exercise was praised for demonstrating a high level of coordination and professionalism among the troops of the participating nations. Awards and commendations were presented to servicemen who exhibited outstanding performance throughout the operation.

During his official visit to Uzbekistan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov also met with the Azerbaijani military personnel taking part in the “Unity-2025” joint regional exercise.

Commending their performance, the Minister emphasized the significance of such exercises in enhancing joint operational capabilities among regional allies. He particularly highlighted the combat proficiency and tactical discipline of the Azerbaijani commandos and UAV crews, who demonstrated superior technical and strategic competence during the exercise.

Colonel General Hasanov underscored that the successful execution of “Unity-2025” once again affirmed the high combat readiness and professional excellence of the participating armies. He extended his best wishes to the servicemen for continued success and expressed satisfaction with the professionalism and organizational standards displayed by the Uzbek hosts.
