Western Azerbaijan Community seeks public proposals over return concept to ancestral lands
The Western Azerbaijan Community has asked the public to submit proposals on the concept of returning to ancestral lands in modern-day Armenia.
"Based on the right of return enshrined in relevant international conventions, the Community of Western Azerbaijan is working on a draft concept (the "Concept of Return") for the peaceful return of Azerbaijanis expelled from modern Armenian territory. This topic has piqued the interest of the general public. Scientists, experts, and ordinary citizens turn to the community for feedback and suggestions on the concept. The ideas and suggestions presented were extremely helpful in the project's preparation. In this regard, the community invites the public to submit comments on the draft concept of return," Trend reports, citing the community's statement.
The community added in its appeal that "offers can be sent to icma.konsepsiya@gmail.com until 18:00 on 21.01.2023. The opinions and suggestions of experts specialising in general international law, humanitarian law, human rights, post-conflict rehabilitation and reintegration, and refugee rights are particularly needed. Proposals can be submitted in Azerbaijani, English, Russian, French or German".
