Azerbaijan teams up with Israel to explore cybersecurity hub
The Azerbaijani Innovation and Digital Development Agency has said that Azerbaijan is considering the creation of a cybersecurity centre with support from Israel.
The discussions surrounding this initiative took place during the official visit of Farid Osmanov, the agency's head, to Israel, where he met with leaders from Check Point, a prominent cybersecurity company, Caliber.Az reports, citing the agency.
During the visit, Osmanov and the Israeli counterparts explored several opportunities for cooperation, including the establishment of a cybersecurity academy in Azerbaijan.
The parties also discussed the implementation of advanced technological solutions from Check Point, the expansion of the company's presence in Azerbaijan, and the development of local partnerships to enhance the country's cybersecurity infrastructure.
In addition to cybersecurity efforts, the delegation explored collaboration with OurCrowd, a leading venture fund. The discussions focused on joint investment projects, technology transfer, and fostering exchanges between startups, which could drive innovation in both countries.
The visit also included a detailed discussion about potential cooperation with Mobileye, a world leader in autonomous driving and artificial intelligence. This collaboration aims to support Azerbaijan's ongoing digital transformation and promote further technological advancements within the country.
