Wildberries to pay compensation after deadly attacks on Russian logistics centres
Wildberries will provide financial compensation to the families of employees killed and those seriously injured following attacks on two of its logistics centres in Russia, the company's chief executive announced on July 17.
Tatyana Kim, CEO of the merged Wildberries and Russ (RVB) company, said the families of employees who died would receive 2 million rubles (about $25,000) each, while those who sustained serious injuries would receive 1 million rubles (about $12,700), Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"In addition to supporting the relatives of those who died, the company will also assist employees who were injured during the attacks on our logistics complexes in Elektrostal and Kotovsk," Kim said in a statement published on her Telegram channel.
She added that Wildberries is also developing compensation arrangements for affected sellers and considering additional financial support measures following the incident.
Earlier on July 17, Russian authorities and company officials reported that Wildberries' logistics complexes in the towns of Kotovsk in the Tambov region and Elektrostal in the Moscow region had been struck during what Russia described as attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As per the latest data, seven were killed, and 25 were injured as a result of the attack.
